Bells-
The Lady Cats continued to improve their district record to 3-4, 8-17
overall on Friday night as they defeated Bells 3-1 in an early match with
scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 26-24. The match time had been moved up due
to homecoming festivities in Bells and an open night on the Tom Bean
football schedule. Ashley Selman led the Lady Cats with 17 kills and 7
blocks for the majority of the match. After a flat start, the girls came
roaring back to defeat the Lady Panthers in three consecutive games.
Makenzie Jones continues to be a consistent force on the left side to help
lead a more balanced attack for the Lady Cats. As a team, the Lady Cats have
been searching for someone to come up consistent on the outside and Makenzie
Jones responded to the challenge with 8 kills. Serving seemed to be a
challenge for the Lady Cats for the evening but the mental toughness of
Danielle Thompson and Raechel Van Horn was the catalyst that helped seal the
match. The Lady Cats begin their second round of district play on Tuesday
evening at home against Callisburg. This is a big match for the girls and
they love to play in front of a packed house. Come on out and wear your
black and orange. Once again, thank you for supporting our girls.
