Mighty Tomcat Band

On Saturday Sept. 27, The Mighty Tomcat Band from Tom Bean High School competed at the Fourth Annual John Parnell Memorial Marching Contest in Durant, Oklahoma.  After both preliminary and finals competition performances, The Mighty Tomcat Band finished fourth overall out of the 26 bands competing.  In addition to their outstanding final placement, The Mighty Tomcat Band was awarded the Bennett Trophy for Outstanding Marching in Finals Competition.  Of the ten finalists competing, Tom Bean was the smallest band as well as the smallest high school; some schools were more than seven times its size. 

This Friday night, The Mighty Tomcat Band will host the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Marching Band.  Along with giving an exhibition performance of their “Channel One Suite” marching show, the SOSU Band will be in the stands to help entertain the crowd for Tom Bean’s football game against Honey Grove.  The game begins at 7:30 in Tom Bean.
