Biography

I am beginning my ninth year at Tom Bean ISD. I have a varied background which includes; Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance and Business Administration, along with a Masters degree in Educational Administration.  I have been a Special Education Coordinator for Anna ISD, as well as a Principal at Anna Middle School. I was the Principal of Tom Bean Middle School for four years and am starting my fourth year as Principal of Tom Bean High School. 

I believe in an environment that facilitates learning for all students.  My experiences have given me the background to understand the social, emotional, disciplinary and educational needs for special students. Understanding what is needed for special students to be successful has helped in my growth to understand the needs for all students in a holistic environment. 

I believe that student discipline must be fair and consistent for all.  The community sets the standards for the schools.  Those standards should and will be followed. This allows teachers to do the job that they love, shaping young minds. The most important challenge to a school and a district is the delivery of an excellent instructional program that will insure the student’s ability to ease into society in any direction he or she might choose following graduation.  To accomplish this feat takes the coordination of all aspects of our individual schools and district, which requires that everyone pull together.  As Principal of Tom Bean High School, I strive to give the staff the tools they need to help assist in molding our youth for leaders of the future.
