Mrs. Getrum received her Bachelor of Science from University of Hawaii and her teacher training from Texas A&M Commerce.  She holds certifications in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Special Education. She has been teaching since 1994.

 

Mrs. Getrum’s goal in the classroom is for every student who comes to her for math to walk out the door at the end of the year with the tools he/she needs to meet life head on.  “Some students want just enough math to exit high school, while others need advanced skills that will carry them through technical degrees,” she says. “It is my job to support each individual’s efforts and stretch their boundaries.”  Former students have commented that they worked hard through out the year and looked back in surprise at how much they learned. 

Mrs. Getrum is married with two grown children.
