James graduated from Whitewright High School in 1984 and attended Grayson County College.  He received his BS in Mathematics Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  James has been teaching at Tom Bean since 2008.  James is married and lives with his wife and three children in Whitewright.  Two of his children are attending Grayson County College and the third will be a student at Whitewright High School.  James’ wife, Misty, is a kindergarten teacher at Whitewright Elementary.  James worked for Johnson & Johnson for a total of 16yrs after graduating from Grayson County College and served on both the Whitewright Ambulance Service and the Whitewright Volunteer Fire Dept.  James believes that all students should be treated fairly and given an opportunity to prove themselves.
