“Everything has to do with Geography” Judy Martz Mr. Cherry, a native of Tahlequah Oklahoma, came to Tom Bean in 2006. Before coming to Tom Bean he served as Assistant Softball Coach and Director of Study Hall for Grayson County College. He is a graduate of Grayson County College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He is married to Kelly Cherry and has a wonderful baby boy named Ryon. His wife is also an educator and teaches Special Education at Whitesboro where she serves as Girls Coordinator and Head Volleyball coach. Mr. Cherry teaches Geography and coaches MS Volleyball and is the Head Coach of the Lady Cat Softball Team.. (See coaching bio on softball page) Excerpt from Mr. Cherry’s philosophy: It was once said not having a plan is a plan to fail. This is also true in the classroom. Developing a philosophy is a must to enter the teaching profession. Although there are many ways to teach a class, you must know in what way you will approach it in order to teach effectively. As educators, the pursuit of knowledge and new techniques of instruction can help us build strong communities through the development of young peoples’ minds. |
