Mark Beardsley is in his 21st year of teaching, and his sixth year in the Tom Bean ISD.  He teaches Health, P. E., and ESL, monitors ISS, and also drives a school bus.  He has previous coaching experience in football and track, is single, and is a longtime Sherman resident.  In 2008-09 he and Cheryl Youree were named co-teachers of the year on the high school campus.
His philosophy of education is that all students are capable of learning and can make a valuable contribution to society.  With hard work and cooperation on the part of the student, and with preparation, patience, and hard work on the part of the teacher, learning and growth will occur every day.
Additionally, it is the responsibility of every person on campus to help maintain a healthy learning environment in order to optimize the learning opportunities for each student.  When these elements are coupled with positive involvement from parents and other community members, education will thrive, and our hopes for a strong and vibrant nation will endure.
