Sharon Stephens |
Mrs. Stephens graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics. She also had ServSafe and ServSafe Instructor Certification in the Culinary Arts field. She taught for 2 years at John Nance Garner Middle School in San Antonio, 18 years at Central High School in San Angelo, and 10 years at Tom Bean High School. She was recognized as TBHS Outstanding Teacher in 2010-2011. Mrs. Stephens also has 4 years of experience teaching in a Christian pre-school. Mrs. Stephens has been an FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) advisor for 27 years. Her students have been active in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Events, collecting many Regional and State awards. In addition, she has had 16 National Gold Medal entries, including 2 from Tom Bean High School (in 2008 and 2010). Mrs. Stephens has been married for 37 years and is the mother of 2 children, and the “Nana” of 4 adorable grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, genealogical research, event planning, cooking, reading, and playing with grandchildren. She is active in Christian children’s ministries and foreign mission work. Her philosophy of education: “I believe that my job is to share knowledge and skills for daily living – things that can be used to improve the quality of REAL LIFE, while creating an atmosphere of learning with FUN.” |
