Weekend Jan 6-9, 2012
We just returned home from Argyle where Jessica auditioned for the ATSSB All-State Band for a third consecutive year. Not only was Jessica selected for the All-State Band, but Jessica placed a unanimous first place out of all 24 trumpets who auditioned. In addition to her placement in the band, Jessica also will be awarded a $500 scholarship from ATSSB for being a 3-year All-State Band member. Will you please join me in congratulating Jessica on this outstanding achievement. Jan 3, 2012 The JV girls lost to Bells Tuesday night. We have 5 players on the team, so it is always a fight to play hard with no subs. Our record is 3-4.
The Freshman Tomcats improved their record to 2-0
against a very thin Callisburg team. Tom Bean started strong and led
the entirety of the contest in a 62-9 victory. Dylan Ashlock led the
Tomcats with 13 points. Tanner Ellis, Brayden Tanner, and Sheldon
Roberson each chipped in double digit scoring with eleven, ten, and ten
points. Tyler Danner had eight points and played great defense on the
opposing teams point guard all night. Colby McKay had a career high,
scoring six points. Gray Trentman and Payton Hall each chipped in a
bucket for the Tomcats. This was the most points scored by the Tomcats
all year. The Junior Varsity team, consisting of these young men and
three sophomores, will take on Trenton Friday night.

Rusty Turner Marci Chapman Well the Mighty Tomcat Band fell short of advancing to the State Marching Band Contest on Saturday at Area Marching Contest. The band had their absolute best performance of the year on Saturday, just came up short in the judges' opinions. I could not be more proud of this band and all their hard work this year. Please join me in congratulating them on a very successful marching season!!! The Tomcats sent out a shorthanded JV basketball squad to play the Chisum Mustangs. Nathan Shipman, Nathan Banks, Justin Morrison, Nathan Kennedy, and Dalton Burrough were the sole participants in the game. They played hard for the entire game but came up short in the end. I am proud of their effort and know we will succeed when we are back to full strength.
